Taken in 2008, shot from the hilltop blind, ran to the south to behind John's blind then back north and crashed in the brush pile about twenty five yards from John's blind.

Taken in 2012, shot from John's blind, came in from Freddie's field, over the top of the hill toward the bait pile, dropped right where he was shot.

Taken in 2013, dropped between the hilltop blind and Bobby's blind, came behind the hilltop blind, waited til he was behind a tree to get up and get turned around for the shot.

Opening day 2013, not many deer seen this year, less than last year. L-R, John's deer, John III's deer, Bob Jr's deer.
2014 - Labelled "truck-o-deer" by Bob. Bob Jr. got two on opening day, about 5:07 PM, took two shots. Bob Sr. got two on the 16th, about 9:30 AM, just one shot for his two tho, you'll have to ask Bob to tell the story. John 3 saw deer, a decent number, but a small Beech tree scuttled his attempt to get shots at either deer, that tree won't be there for the 2015 season. Bob Jr. shot his out of John3's blind, Bob shot his out of his blind, John3 hunted the hilltop blind. See the diagram for the blind locations and where the deer were and were taken.

November 7, 2015, coming in to Charlie Lange's bait near Wolverine MI.

Bob got opening day 2015 off to a good start at about 8:15AM by downing this nice eight point buck on the left. We figure he went about 180# live weight. Then to finish off his day about mid afternoon Bob shot this interesting 1 1/2 year old two pointer. Must have bumped his head on the right side early in the year and damaged whatever it is that makes bones grow up there, cause all he had was the interesting little fork on the left.

Bob Jr.s mounted bear, picked up on weekend of 10/1/16, nice mount Jr.
John3 starts 2016 with this spike buck taken at Tin Creek with his X-bow, early morning of 10/8/16, hunting with Darrick MacKenzie.
Here's the buck pole on the afternoon of the 15th 2016. Bob Jr. got the deer on the right the night of the 14th with his Xbow. Bob got the deer on the left, a four that used to be a small 6 the morning of the 15th. The buck had part of one antler broken off, hence he became a 4 instead of a 6 point. It was in the low 60s that day, some weather for November in Michigan, great napping weather in the blind.
Bob's bux for 2016.
OK, let's see what 2017 has to offer, pretty good luck, as you will see below. 1st row, Bob's 8 point, John3's 6 point, Bob's 4 point. 2nd row, Bob Jr and Kendall with Bob Jr's 1, yes 1, point, a one spike buck, Bob and John3 with their bucks hanging in Bob's new shed (out of the rain, rained all day on the opener in 2017), next (?) generation hunter, Kendall with dad's one horn buck hanging in the shed.
OK, so what's 2018 got in store for us.
Some visitors to the woods early in the year (2019) and summer.
2019 - opening weekend - baiting ban in effect this year, crazy antler point restriction in our DMU, not many deer seen at all, but one hunter took advantage of the opportunity that came his way. So far, 2019 is Kendall's year, nine years old, nine points, Grandpa's 30 cal. carbine, watta buck, Congrats Kendall.
OK, what's happening in 2020? Luke and Levi, that's what's happening so far.
Here's Luke, Michigan's special youth hunt. Got this nice doe with a bolt action 30-30 that used to belong to his great great great uncle, prolly older than Luke's dad. Cousin Kendall with Luke doin the necessary, all a part of the hunt. Got her up on the hangin pole, Luke's second season, second deer, Congrats Luke on a successful deer season. More to come.
Hey, it's Levi, Luke's brother, regular firearm deer season. Got this nice doe with that 30-30 bolt action. Levi and cousin Kendall dragging her out of the woods. Proud of that cooperator's patch for 2020, DNR agent called her a "trophy doe", 6 1/2 years old, lots of venison for the freezer. Levi's first deer, more to come, two young Michigan sportsmen starting out right. Congrats Levi.
2021 How's it going so far, 11/22/21
On the left it's Kendall with a very nice big doe taken on the 14th with that crossbow, nice shot Kendall, way to start the season. Next in the middle, Levi with a nice 8 point taken on opening day. Shot from Bob's (Grandpa) blind. Sweet shooting 30-30 bolt action did the job. Now on the right, Luke's turn, on the 21st, his 1st buck, again from Bob's (Grandpa) blind, a nice 5 point, with that sweet shooting 30-30 bolt action. Check some previous years, you'll see that sweet shooter some more, getting a rep of it's own.

Got a report from Tin Creek. John III hunting with buddy Darrick MacKenzie. Darrick took the nice 6 point with bow and arrow on the 14th. John III got the nice doe on opening day of the rifle season. She went 10 yards after being shot, dropped in the road, no dragging this day, just hauled out on the quad.
